What the 06A and 07D specialties mean for your job

Washington splits electrical contractor licensing into specialties, and ours carries two. The 06A HVAC/Refrigeration specialty covers the electrical side of heating, cooling and refrigeration equipment: the furnace, heat pump, central air unit or mini-split we install or repair, its controls and the wiring that feeds it. The 07D Appliance Repair specialty covers servicing, repairing and replacing household appliances and their internal wiring, within the state limit of 250 volts and 60 amps on a single-phase circuit.

In practice, the person who diagnoses your heat pump can also handle the electrical work it needs, instead of handing that part to a second company and a second appointment.

Installs: the contractor registration and the permit

Replacing a furnace, adding a heat pump or mounting a mini-split counts as construction work in Washington, so it runs under our general contractor registration, LARCHHA745PW. To keep a registration active, the state requires a surety bond and liability insurance on file. When an install calls for an electrical permit, it is filed under our electrical contractor license, and the inspection follows that permit.

How to check us on L&I Verify

  1. Open L&I Verify from either card on this page, or search for LARCHHA742PL or LARCHHA745PW at secure.lni.wa.gov/verify.
  2. Confirm the status reads Active and the business name reads LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE, UBI 605 283 205.
  3. Under License specialties, look for HVAC/RFRG (6A) and APPLIANCE REPAIR (7D).
  4. Check the dates: the electrical license runs from Oct 26, 2026 to Oct 26, 2028, the contractor registration from Oct 16, 2026 to Oct 16, 2028.
  5. The bond section shows the electrical contractor bond the state requires.

The same record lists any history too, so you can read it as it stands rather than taking our word for it.

Records from before our new name

Until 2026 we worked as Adam & Sam Brothers Repair, and filings from that time carry the name ADAM&SAM BROTHERS REPAIR. The crew, the shop on West Columbia Avenue and the phone number stayed the same; the licenses listed above are the ones that apply to work booked today.

Refrigerant handling sits outside state licensing. It falls under the federal EPA Section 608 rules, and the technicians who recover, braze and recharge refrigerant carry EPA 608 Universal cards.

Questions we hear

Do you need a license to replace a furnace or heat pump in Washington?

Yes. The installation is construction work, which requires an active contractor registration, and the electrical connection falls under electrical contractor rules. We hold both: LARCHHA745PW for the installation and LARCHHA742PL, with the 06A specialty, for the electrical side.

Does a license matter for an appliance repair?

Repairs that involve an appliance's electrical components fall under the 07D specialty in Washington. Our electrical contractor license carries it, so the technician fixing your washer, range or refrigerator works under a state license rather than around one.

Where do I check that your license is active?

On L&I Verify, the state's public lookup. Each license card on this page opens the record directly, and you can also search by the number or by the name LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE.

Why does an older record show a different name?

Before 2026 we operated as Adam & Sam Brothers Repair. Older filings keep that name; the licenses in force today are filed under LARCH HVAC & APPLIANCE.

Do the licenses cover every town on your map?

Yes. Washington L&I licenses are statewide, so the same licenses apply in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Cheney, Deer Park and every other town we cover.
