Where the vans start the day
Our shop sits at 2405 W Columbia Ave, on the river’s north bank between Kendall Yards and the Monroe corridor. That spot shapes the map: the North Side and the South Hill are minutes away, Airway Heights and Spokane Valley within about twenty, and Cheney, Deer Park, Liberty Lake and Newman Lake mark the outer edge at roughly thirty to thirty-five.
It is a base rather than a storefront. The vans are loaded there each morning, and the actual repairs happen in your basement, kitchen, laundry room or walk-in.
From Adam & Sam Brothers to Larch
The business began as Adam & Sam Brothers Repair and spent years doing what it does today: furnaces, heat pumps, central air and mini-splits on one side; on the other, laundry machines, refrigerators, cooking ranges, dishwashers, ice makers and restaurant refrigeration. Along the way it collected more than 100 Google reviews at a 4.6 average.
The work had outgrown the old name, so we chose a new one. The people, vans and phone number stayed put.
What an install and a repair involve
Installing a heat pump, furnace or mini-split is electrical work as much as mechanical: a dedicated circuit, a disconnect, sometimes a panel upgrade. The written quote lists that electrical hookup and the permit as their own line items, and the finished install is permitted and inspected. On a repair call, a breaker that keeps tripping is tested by the technician standing at your furnace, who tells you whether the fault is in the furnace or the home’s wiring.
Refrigerant follows the same logic. Every technician doing refrigerant work holds EPA 608 Universal certification, so locating a leak, repairing it and recharging the system happen in-house on central air, heat pumps, mini-splits, household refrigerators and commercial coolers.
The rules we work by
- A $99 diagnostic anywhere on our 35-minute map, counted inside every repair you approve
- One written number before work begins, and that same number on the invoice
- Installs priced in writing after a no-cost site visit, with the electrical hookup and permit listed as line items
- Nothing added for distance or for Saturday, and no second trip fee if we must order a part
- Up to $22 off an appliance repair or up to $50 off an HVAC repair booked online — the callback we skip, handed back to you
- A written warranty on every finished job
- A plain answer when something isn’t worth fixing; then $99 is the whole bill and the findings are yours to keep
Why a larch
Every October the western larch turns the slopes around Spokane gold. Unlike the pines and firs around it, the larch sheds its needles for winter and grows a fresh set in spring. Slow-growing, long-lived and made for this climate — qualities we would like people to connect with the van parked in their driveway.
Questions we hear
Do you have a showroom or a repair counter?
No. We are a mobile service, so each repair happens where the equipment lives — your home, rental, restaurant or shop. The West Columbia address is where the vans are stocked and the mail arrives. Reach us by phone, text or the booking form, and the technician drives to you.
Who actually does the work?
Our own technicians, the same crew that drove the vans as Adam & Sam Brothers Repair. Anyone touching refrigerant carries the EPA 608 Universal card, and on an install the written quote lists the electrical hookup and the permit as separate line items.
What areas do you cover?
Everything within roughly 35 minutes of the shop. That means Spokane and Spokane Valley; Airway Heights, Medical Lake and Cheney on the West Plains; Millwood, Liberty Lake, Otis Orchards and Newman Lake to the east; and Mead, Colbert, Deer Park and Nine Mile Falls to the north. Pricing is identical in all thirteen, and neither distance nor a Saturday visit adds anything.
Will you tell me if something isn’t worth repairing?
Yes. Describe the symptom and the age of the unit on the phone and we will say whether fixing it is likely to pay off before anyone drives out. If the diagnostic shows the furnace or machine is past saving, you hear that plainly, $99 is the entire charge, and the written findings stay with you.
