Ice Maker Repair in Kennewick, WA

Kennewick is Washington’s wine country hub — and that means ice matters here in ways it doesn’t in other cities. The Columbia Gardens Urban Wine and Artisan Village on the waterfront, the tasting rooms scattered across the Benton County wine trail, the home entertainment culture that the region’s wine industry has cultivated, and simply the reality of living through some of the hottest summers in Washington State — all of this drives ice demand in Kennewick that makes a broken ice maker in July feel like a genuine household emergency. Adam & Sam Brothers Repair provides same-day ice maker repair throughout all of Kennewick — residential refrigerators, undercounter ice makers, and commercial units — with a fixed quote before we start.

Kennewick’s ice maker environment is shaped primarily by heat rather than water chemistry. Unlike Eastern Washington aquifer communities where hard water deposits calcium scale that clogs inlet valves and fill tubes aggressively, Kennewick draws treated Columbia River water that is significantly softer. Hard water damage is a much lesser factor here. The dominant Kennewick ice maker threat is the sustained 105°F+ summer heat — pushing refrigerators to their thermal limits and stressing every component of the ice-making system throughout the peak summer season.

Residential Ice Maker Problems in Kennewick

Ice maker stopped in summer — refrigerator thermal stress. Kennewick’s most characteristic ice maker problem and one that surprises homeowners who haven’t experienced it before. When a refrigerator’s condenser coil is fouled with Benton County agricultural dust and the ambient temperature is 107°F, the freezer struggles to maintain the temperature needed for the ice maker to cycle. The ice maker module detects insufficient freezer temperature and halts production as a safety measure — making it appear that the ice maker has failed when the real issue is the refrigerator’s overall thermal condition. Our technicians always assess the full refrigerator system — particularly condenser coil condition — before concluding that the ice maker module itself has failed.

Water inlet valve failure. The solenoid valve that opens to fill the ice maker. While Kennewick’s soft Columbia River water is gentler on valve screens than hard water, the solenoid coil itself wears from years of switching cycles. Summer heat in the refrigerator compartment — elevated when the ambient temperature is 105°F outside — accelerates solenoid coil failure. Valves are model-specific and we order the exact part for your refrigerator. Same-day repair when in stock.

Ice maker module failure. The electronic assembly controlling fill, freeze, harvest, and eject cycles. When it fails the ice maker stops cycling entirely. Modules are replaced not repaired. Whirlpool and GE modules run $40-$80. Samsung and Electrolux/Frigidaire modules are $150-$200 or more — three to four times higher. We disclose exact part costs in our fixed quote before any work begins.

Undercounter ice maker failure — Canyon Lakes and South Kennewick. Canyon Lakes and South Kennewick premium homes frequently have dedicated undercounter ice makers alongside their main refrigerators — Scotsman, U-Line, and similar brands installed in wet bars and entertainment areas. These units are effectively small commercial ice machines in a residential setting and share some commercial failure patterns: condenser coil clogging from the enclosed cabinet environment, evaporator scale, and condenser fan motor wear. In Kennewick’s summer heat, undercounter ice makers in enclosed cabinet spaces with limited airflow are particularly vulnerable. We service all major undercounter ice maker brands throughout Kennewick.

Commercial Ice Machine Repair in Kennewick

Kennewick’s restaurants along Canal Drive and Columbia Drive, the businesses near Columbia Center Mall, the Columbia Gardens Wine and Artisan Village venues, the Toyota Center and Three Rivers Convention Center operations, and food service businesses throughout Kennewick’s commercial corridors all depend on commercial ice machines through the hottest months of the Tri-Cities summer. Kennewick’s 105°F+ summers are the most demanding commercial ice machine operating conditions in Washington State.

The dominant commercial ice machine failure in Kennewick is blocked condenser coils from Benton County agricultural dust — the same particulate that fouls residential refrigerators also coats commercial condenser coils, causing overheating and reduced production. In Kennewick’s heat, a blocked condenser means total production shutdown rather than just reduced output. Condenser fan motor failure follows from running at sustained maximum speed against a restricted coil. We stock condenser fan motors for all major commercial brands and respond same day for commercial emergencies throughout Kennewick.

Kennewick’s Columbia River water is actually an advantage for commercial ice machines — lower mineral content means slower scale buildup on evaporator surfaces compared to hard water cities. The primary maintenance focus in Kennewick’s commercial ice machines is condenser cleaning on a 3-month schedule — more frequent than standard due to the dust environment — rather than descaling. We service Scotsman, Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Ice-O-Matic, and Follett commercial ice machines throughout Kennewick and the Tri-Cities.

I am so thankful for their friendly and professional service! They were able to schedule me quickly and diagnose my fridge issues immediately! There was a delay is service only because the manufacture had their email wrong, and our compressor took awhile to ship. As soon as the compressor arrived, Adam & Sam Brothers contacted me and scheduled repair the next day. It is such a relief to find a company that is professional through & through! They did exactly what they said they were going to do and even showed up on time to do the repair! Their contact info is permanently in my phone, just in case another HVAC decides to break down! Thank you!

We are so appreciative of this company's service. I called in the morning and was satisfied knowing that someone would help us with our dryer, which was full of wet clothing and no longer heating. The window of time for expecting a technician was accurate.A technician arrived at our home after 7 (p.m.) and worked till after 9 (p.m.)He rapidly and expertly assessed the problem. He had all the needed parts with him.He worked non-stop replacing parts,he also cleaned years of built up lint in the vent hose and I am now pleased to know how to maintain that myself. The technician was pleasant, professional, efficient, and thorough,as one would expect. We did receive an email invoice with the total charge only, however, it would be helpful if they would offer an itemized invoice. In hindsight,we were probably overcharged for the completed work.We agreed to the the offered quote as it was late in the evening,he traveled far and we were pleased to have him do a great job.I highly recommend Adam & Sam brothers repair.
