Refrigerator Repair in Poulsbo, WA

Poulsbo homeowners tend to invest in quality — the city’s median household income of $116,250 and median home value approaching $660,000 reflect a community that buys premium appliances and expects them to last. When the refrigerator in a Poulsbo home fails, it is often a high-end French door unit, a premium Sub-Zero, or a newer LG or Samsung with advanced features — and it needs a technician who knows these systems well. Adam & Sam Brothers Repair provides same-day refrigerator repair throughout Poulsbo and Kitsap County with a fixed quote and no hidden fees.

Poulsbo’s marine climate creates specific refrigerator conditions that differ from Eastern Washington. The city’s ambient humidity — sustained year-round by proximity to Liberty Bay and Puget Sound — means refrigerator door seals work in a permanently damp environment. Gaskets on Poulsbo refrigerators tend to collect mold on their exterior surfaces and deteriorate faster than in dry climates. A refrigerator that seems to run constantly in Poulsbo is sometimes working against a seal that is no longer holding properly — allowing warm, humid outside air to seep in and force the compressor to run longer cycles to compensate.

Poulsbo’s water quality also affects refrigerators with ice makers and water dispensers. The city’s water contains 10 contaminants above EPA health guidelines and can run brown or discolored in winter as iron and manganese concentrate in slower-moving pipes during cold months. Iron deposits affect water inlet valves, fill tubes, and ice maker components differently than the calcium scale common in Eastern Washington — requiring different diagnostic and maintenance approaches. Our Poulsbo refrigerator technicians assess the full water delivery system on every ice maker service call.

LG & Kenmore Refrigerator Compressor Failure in Poulsbo

LG refrigerators manufactured from 2012 onward have a well-documented linear compressor problem — and Kenmore refrigerators built by LG during this same period share the identical issue. If your Poulsbo LG or Kenmore refrigerator has stopped cooling completely and was purchased after 2012, linear compressor failure is the most likely cause. Our technicians diagnose this accurately and give you an honest fixed quote including a genuine repair vs replacement assessment. Poulsbo’s premium home values mean replacement appliances are not cheap — we give you the full picture so you can make the right financial decision.

French Door Refrigerators — The Poulsbo Standard

French door refrigerators are particularly common in Poulsbo’s well-appointed homes. These units — typically featuring dual evaporator systems, through-the-door ice and water, and sophisticated control boards — are more complex to diagnose and repair than standard refrigerators. Common French door failures in Poulsbo include dual evaporator defrost system failures causing frost buildup in one compartment while the other stays at temperature, ice maker problems related to Poulsbo’s iron-mineral water, control board failures, and door gasket deterioration accelerated by the marine humidity. We service all major French door refrigerator brands in Poulsbo including LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Sub-Zero.

Condenser Maintenance — The Most Neglected Refrigerator Service in Poulsbo

Almost no Poulsbo homeowner has their refrigerator condenser coils cleaned — and yet in a community with significant pet ownership and older craftsman-style homes with tight kitchen cabinetry, condenser coil fouling is a real factor in premature compressor wear. A refrigerator pushed deep into a kitchen cabinet with poor ventilation, accumulating pet hair on the condenser coils, forces the compressor to run hotter and longer with every passing season. We clean condenser coils during every refrigerator service visit in Poulsbo and recommend homeowners do the same annually.

Fixed Quote Before We Start

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG refrigerator stopped cooling in Poulsbo — is it the compressor?

If your LG or Kenmore refrigerator was purchased after 2012 and has stopped cooling completely, linear compressor failure is the most likely cause. Our technicians diagnose accurately and give you an honest fixed quote including a repair vs replacement assessment based on your unit’s age and value.

Why is my Poulsbo refrigerator running constantly?

In Poulsbo’s humid marine climate, door gaskets deteriorate faster than in dry climates — mold grows on the exterior surface and the rubber loses its seal. A compromised gasket lets warm, humid outside air into the refrigerator, forcing the compressor to work harder and run more frequently. Door gasket inspection and replacement is part of every refrigerator service visit in Poulsbo.

I am so thankful for their friendly and professional service! They were able to schedule me quickly and diagnose my fridge issues immediately! There was a delay is service only because the manufacture had their email wrong, and our compressor took awhile to ship. As soon as the compressor arrived, Adam & Sam Brothers contacted me and scheduled repair the next day. It is such a relief to find a company that is professional through & through! They did exactly what they said they were going to do and even showed up on time to do the repair! Their contact info is permanently in my phone, just in case another HVAC decides to break down! Thank you!

We are so appreciative of this company's service. I called in the morning and was satisfied knowing that someone would help us with our dryer, which was full of wet clothing and no longer heating. The window of time for expecting a technician was accurate.A technician arrived at our home after 7 (p.m.) and worked till after 9 (p.m.)He rapidly and expertly assessed the problem. He had all the needed parts with him.He worked non-stop replacing parts,he also cleaned years of built up lint in the vent hose and I am now pleased to know how to maintain that myself. The technician was pleasant, professional, efficient, and thorough,as one would expect. We did receive an email invoice with the total charge only, however, it would be helpful if they would offer an itemized invoice. In hindsight,we were probably overcharged for the completed work.We agreed to the the offered quote as it was late in the evening,he traveled far and we were pleased to have him do a great job.I highly recommend Adam & Sam brothers repair.
